What a contract covers

Choose a component contract (parts covered) or a non-component contract (service and labour). Both are designed to maximise output and minimise downtime.
Periodic maintenance checks
Scheduled visits to inspect panels, structure, wiring, earthing and protection devices.
Performance audits
Generation compared with what the plant should produce, so problems are caught early.
Panel cleaning
Dust on panels cuts output. Regular cleaning keeps generation up.
Fault diagnosis and repair
Prompt diagnosis, and repair or replacement of defective components where the contract covers it.
Warranties
Manufacturer warranties.
Solar panels carry a product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty from the manufacturer. Inverters carry the manufacturer's standard warranty, and many brands offer extensions at the time of purchase or in the first years of operation.
Exact terms by brand: client to confirm current panel and inverter warranty terms (the old page quoted 10 to 15 years product, 80% after 25 years, and 5 to 8 years for inverters, which may be out of date)
