Under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, homes get a central subsidy of ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 per kW for the next kW, capped at ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW or more. Housing societies and RWAs can get ₹18,000 per kW for common facilities, including EV charging, up to 500 kW.

It depends on how many units you use. The national portal's guide for homes is 1 to 2 kW for 0 to 150 units a month, 2 to 3 kW for 150 to 300 units, and above 3 kW beyond that. In Mysuru, each kW typically produces around 115 units a month over a year.

Plan for roughly 100 square feet of shade-free roof per kW. RCC terraces, metal sheet roofs and elevated structures over a terrace all work. We check shading, roof strength and cable routes during the site survey.

Usually not, and you should be wary of anyone who promises it. A well-sized on-grid system can cover most of the units you use, but fixed charges, taxes and night-time or monsoon consumption still appear on your bill. What changes is that the energy part of your bill drops sharply for 25 years or more.

A standard on-grid system switches off when the grid fails. This is a safety requirement, so linemen are not hurt by power flowing back into the network. If you need backup, choose an integrated hybrid or modular hybrid system, which add batteries, or an off-grid system.

A net meter records the units you draw from the grid and the surplus solar units you send back, and your electricity supply company (CESC in Mysuru) bills you for the difference. We prepare and follow up the application and meter change for you as part of the project.

The PM Surya Ghar subsidy is only for homes and housing societies. Businesses usually benefit instead through tax: solar plants have qualified for accelerated depreciation of 40% in the first year under the Income-tax Rules. Very little. Panels need regular cleaning with water (dust reduces output), and the inverter, wiring and earthing should be checked periodically. We offer annual maintenance contracts that cover cleaning, performance checks, fault diagnosis and repairs.

Panels carry the manufacturer's product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty. Inverters carry the manufacturer's warranty, which can often be extended.
